STAY CONNECTED

Stay engaged between sessions through our private Facebook group and emails. Enjoy optional journaling challenges, weekly prompts, and other inspiring content from your coach, including recommendations for books, podcasts, and more. In this community, we encourage you to offer prompts, share your experiences and ‘aha!’ moments, ask questions, and suggest ideas – in short, be an active participant in a network of budding journaling advocates.

For those seeking the in-person experience, join our quarterly ticketed journaling meet-ups in Bournemouth. These events are your chance to meet and connect with fellow midlife self-explorers, introduce friends to the club, and create lasting connections. If attending these events isn’t possible, we encourage you to meet up with Midlife Slice members near you. We are happy to provide content for and guidance on how to host the event.

Embark on this transformative journey with us — where pen to paper becomes your trusted companion and your secret weapon for navigating midlife, a powerful tool for self-discovery, empowerment, and a happier, healthier midlife.

FAQs

What is The Midlife SLICE?
-he Midlife Slice is a series of small, in-person, and on line group workshops and boutique day retreats created and led by Midlife Transition Coach, Lynda Brown.

Designed specifically to support women in midlife, each workshop/retreat offers a unique, and experiential coaching experience that focuses on self-discovery and personal growth. In addition, the group experience enables everyone to benefit from the varied perspectives, life experience and collective wisdom of each other.

The Midlife Slice also organises Impromptu Gatherings, such as beach journaling meet-ups and sea dips, mindfulness walks, beach cleans and movie nights with a midlife twist.

Is The Midlife Slice for Me?
If you are in the ‘messy middle’, starting to feel that you are about to enter, or well on your way to the other side … yes! there really is the ‘other side’ and from my experience, it’s a great place to be … then The Midlife Slice summer series of coaching and wellbeing experiences is for you.

  • Have you have found yourself, perhaps unexpectedly, unravelling or in overwhelm?
  • Are you seemingly lacking the courage or confidence you once had?
  • Do you feel rudderless and without direction?
  • Or are you simply ‘just not feeling yourself’?

BUT …

  • You KNOW that you have more to give
  • That you are CAPABLE of more
  • That you want more for YOURSELF and your life;
  • And that you want to make the next years, your BEST YEARS

BUT … you just don’t know how? Then Midlife Slice has been created especially for you.

Welcome to the messy middle. A place of transformation for those who choose to invest in themselves and design a future more aligned to who they are now and who they want to be in the future.

How much time commitment does THE JOURNALING CLUB require?

The monthly online journaling club is one hour. You may however, also choose to invest time away from the club to further explore the journaling prompts, challenges and exercises offered (all of which are optional). You may also find yourself wanting to do further self-discovery work as a result of the topics covered, or perhaps make journaling a daily ritual.

I also recommend books and podcasts which may peak your interest, but again are all optional resources.

How do I know if THE JOURNALING CLUB is for me?

I hope that the journaling club description provides you with a good idea of what to expect and who it has been designed for. However, if you are still unsure, please email any questions you may have to [email protected]

Do I need to bring anything with me?

A journal, note pad or a few sheets of paper and a pen is all you need to bring to the journaling club.

What is a Midlife Transition Coach?
In our lifetime we all encounter many challenges which vary in size and impact. We call these life disruptors and lifequakes, many of which can occur in our 40s and 50s. Some are voluntary (E.g. Changing jobs, choosing to leave a marriage, moving abroad), others we think we are prepared for, but often are not (E.g. the loss of an elderly relative, children leaving home, a promotion), and others simply blindside us (E.g. Losing someone close unexpectedly, our spouse leaving us, a poor health diagnosis). Each can change the course of our lives, by a little or a lot, and how we navigate these transitions is up to us.

One way to learn how to successfully navigate your life’s transitions and disruptors is to seek the support of a transition coach.

A Midlife Transition Coach will help those in their 40s, 50s and 60s equip themselves with the essential tools and mindset required to turn unease and upheaval into growth and renewal, and navigate midlife transitions with meaning, purpose, and skill.

What coaching qualifications do you have?
I am a qualified Life Coach with over 10 years of experience. I am Third Age Women Certified (a certification focused on menopause and wellbeing), a Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), and have completed ‘Navigating Midlife Transitions’ with the Modern Elder Academy.

I have also experienced many major life transitions of my own – the place in which I learned most – including ending a significant relationship, being unexpectedly made redundant, leaving a great job to set up my own consultancy, going freelance after having been fulltime employed for 20 years, moving to several new cities, temporarily living abroad, supporting my ageing parents from afar, not knowing my ‘what’s next?’ and the shedding of old identities, to name but a few, as well as having helped my many clients through their own midlife transitions and disruptors.
